Results and impact

The objective of this thesis is to propose a novel control algorithm for a large rotor diameter turbine using LiDAR measurements. It aims to exploit the LiDAR ability to get a short-term forecast knowledge of the rotor effective wind field in order to exert an early control action for every blade pitch angle individually. The resulting prepositioning of blades pitch angle can allow a large gain in fatigu load, especially in case of short bursts of high speed wind.
